The traditional Latvian pakavsakta (horseshoe shapped brooch) is a  significant symbol of Baltic culture.  This type of brooch was used to fasten together the opening of a linen shirt (male or female).  It is handcrafted in Latvia from high-quality sterling silver by experienced silversmiths, ensuring each piece is unique and made with care.
