This artisan teapot has a beautifully rustic, sculptural character, combining traditional craftsmanship with a natural botanical design. Itis made entirely by hand, without using a pottery lathe.
The teapot is created using the black reduced ceramics technique. This is an old method that involves firing the clay in a kiln with limited oxygen. This process gives the pottery its characteristic black, matte surface. The teapot has a wonderfully organic, textured surface that highlights the handmade nature of the piece. Delicate raised botanical leaf motifs decorate the body, adding depth and a subtle connection to nature.
The generously rounded body, curved spout and sturdy handle give it a timeless, functional shape, while the matching domed lid features a distinctive loop handle for easy lifting.
Perfect for serving tea, this is a statement piece that brings earthy, contemporary rustic charm to the table. Its artisanal finish means each piece can have its own subtle variations in texture, colour and character.
The teapot measures 23cm from the spout to the edge of the pot (not including the handle) and is 12cm high. The teapot comes with a fitted, removable lid, and the total weight is around 1.3 kilograms, although this can vary slightly between items.
The botanical design tea pot is sized for brewing a small amount of tea, and the lid fits well to keep the tea warm while pouring. The handmade nature and the firing technique make the teapot durable and practical for everyday use, as well as visually distinct.
