For several years now, the mysterious humor and recipe blog LAURU LAPA has been sparking interest online (on Facebook). Mysterious—because no one had any idea who the blog’s author was.
It turns out, there are two authors, and both are women. Two creative and cheerful ladies from the Cēsis region—Liene Margeviča and Nata Bramberga. Childhood friends united by a spirit of experimentation in the kitchen, an endless sense of humor, and shared memories from their childhood in Skujene, where they witnessed many behind-the-scenes moments from rural canteen life.
LAURU LAPA delights its readers with flavorful little life stories, along with recipes that are just as tasty. Recipes for everyone — for example floating pale bacon bits in soup (Zupā peldoši bālgani speķa gabaliņi), or fried brains. For some, the stories and recipes are a childhood trauma; for others, a delicious sweet treat.
